About us...

Fonet Ltd. was established in 1998. The starting capital came from Czech private individuals. A 2000 turnover stood at CZK 6 mil. Fonet's shareholders and managers are active since 1994, when they entered the business as the sole proprietors. Fonet was based due to the rapid growth of their businesses and the need to increase the financial strength. Since the establishment, Fonet diversified its range of activities into all main segments of IT.

The expansion aims mainly to these segments:

Internet
development and running of complex WWW presentations and applications, customers connecting by the fixed lines, dial-up and microwave technology, and all other standard services. We offer also a SW router based on OS Linux, which enables to connect the whole company through one centre. This router enables also other Internet services including firewall.

Support
we offer support in Brno area for 12 hours a day. We serve complete customer service of modular information system for I.F.T Progress.
Net
see "Internet" above. We offer complete supply of active and passive net equipment, including cables, installations and projection.
Software
see references below. We are also specializing in the field of systems programming in UNIX (C/C++), nets (TCP/IP, UDP/IP) and mass data processing - we have experiences in SQL, database PostgreSQL (http://www.postgresql.org/) and Embedded SQL used for entering PostgreSQL and Oracle datastore.

Our programming knowledge...

MS Window, basic experiences with Xlib and Xt libraries for X Window and Motif (1.2), for future we plan to orient towards library QT (version 2), UNIX (Linux, SCO, Solaris, Unixware, HP Unix…, we do not have experiences with IBM AIX). We prefer languages C, eventually C++, we have basic knowledge in Java. We are currently using SQL server PostgreSQL, we have experiences in Centura, Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL.

Of the WWW technologies, we have experiences in PHP, ASP, DHTML (due to DOM model MS) and Java/VB script, basic knowledge of XML, standard for us is of course HTML 4.01 and CSS level 1 and 2. We have big experiences both in "classic" modular programming, and object programming, and also programming oriented to events or news including synchronisation and communication on the level of processes and threads.
